Business
Mentoring - The MJCCR is working with
the Opportunity Fund, a vision of Jack Rosenberg and long supported by Lucy
Rosenberg. The Fund provides low
income minority entrepreneurs with low interest micro-loans for starting up a
small business. We are recruiting volunteers with a business background who are willing to
mentor these budding entrepreneurs.
MJCCR Task Forces- MJCCR activities are coordinated through task forces comprised of board members and other interested Jewish community members. Current task forces include Anti-Semitism and Constitutional Law, Israel,
and Domestic Public Policy. Task forces are formed in September and run through June.
MJCCR Board Membership- The MJCCR board includes representatives of
twenty-nine local synagogues and Jewish organizations and an equal number of members representing the community at large. Constituent member organizations appoint their own representatives to the MJCCR board, and an MJCCR Nominating Committee oversees appointment of at-large members.
